Larry D. Lariosa and Terrence Marcotte, collectively Alchemy & Twine Productions, are a queer couple whose mission is to create compelling art in service of social justice. By sharing untold stories and connecting the dots between past and present, they seek to create change and empower communities. Their work as healthcare providers informs their creative perspective. Searching for Kapwa, which was the Centerpiece Feature at the 2023 San Diego Filipino Film Festival and recipient of the Kinship Award at the DisOrient 2023 Film Festival, is their first feature full length film and has been a mostly self-funded passion project. Larry and Terry live in Oakland, CA with their 3 chihuahuas. Born in San Diego, Larry is a first generation Filipino-American and draws on his 20+ years as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to tell stories as a form of self expression, activism, and healing. He previously served as the LGBT Director for the University of California SF, received his BA in Psychology from SF State University, and Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco. In addition to filmmaking, Larry is a songwriter and musician, currently writing his first musical theater project, "The Trees". Originally from Washington State, Terrence works as a Nurse Practitioner within the San Francisco Department of Public Health. Terrence has a BA in Human Development from Evergreen State College, and a Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of California, San Francisco. He believes that the creative process is key to living an engaged and impactful life, and channels that energy into visual arts and design. |
